8:55am - Enter smaller courtroom. Veronica and Judge are the only missing parties. Hat lady is here and another female observer sitting in the back. James talking about "playing the whole thing" to Song. think they are talking about audio tape, not video, because he mentions transcript that states and "unknown male voice."

9:01am - Roger setting up transcript on big screen, now adjusting speakers. Veronica enters.

9:02am - SB and AR brought in.

9:07am - Roger asks Bob the clerk how he is doing. Bob says good. Bob Thompson on phone.

9:10am - Judge enters. James talking to Judge about removing references to "unknown male voice" from transcript. Song asking if prosecution are going to play a certain tape. Richard Leo, an expert that Song wants to call and was denied, Song is appealing that since the prosecution keeps having Haslett testify about how Sebastian had numerous opportunities to deny involvement in the crimes in Bellevue but didn't. James wants a transcript of the original argument for Richard Leo, because he doesn't think that's why it was denied. Judge agrees there should be a transcript to refresh everyone's memory. Song is going to file this in the next week.

9:22am - Jury comes in. Haslett on stand. James questioning him about the May 6th, Four Season scenario.

9:24am - Talking about the motivation for SB to continue his relationship with the "mobsters" after he informed them that he had enough money to make his film. The focus came away from money and transferred more on destroying evidence from the crime scene in Bellevue. He says SB brought it up originally, about destroying evidence.

9:30am - Start playing tape. Transcript on big screen:

Haslett offering drinks. SB just wants carbonated spring water. Now SB talking about buying a car. Now Shinkaruk and Haslett talking about getting "good tail." SB seems embarrassed by this. SB says, "I'm not into your hip lingo." Shinkaruk talking about girls w/"pancake tits." Says you just "lift her tits up and smack her on the back and they'll pop out." Neat.

James stops the tape and ask why they would be talking in that way. Haslett says to put the target at ease. Way to go. As the tape starts back up, SB ignores the sexist remarks and asks again about getting a car.

9:55am - SB talking about the art of shop lifting. How to tell where cameras are. How to tell if sales people are on to you, etc. Shinkaruk brings it back to sex. Talking about "macking" a girl, then walking out of the store she was a clerk at with a shopping cart full of merchandise.

SB asks them, when you go walking around do you get the impression people think you are crooks? Yes, he used the term "crooks." Hysterical. As a matter of fact, Haslett and Shinkaruck cannot stop laughing at first.

Shinkaruk, "Why would ask that? I'm not a crook. I'm a business man."

SB slams back with, "I'm not asking what you think YOU are, but what other people think you are…"

Shinkaruk, "What do you think people think of you?"

SB, "I could always get a ride if I was hitching. I look like a nice kid. I didn't mean to insult you."

Shinkaruk, "Well in your own witty way you just did."

10:07am - SB talking about pressure on police to find killers - far more of a motivation to "get" SB and AR than the actually thinking they did it.

10:17am - Female juror stands up. leans her back against the wall.

Haslett, on tape, saying he doesn't think that SB did the crime for 60K from the sale of the house.

SB - "Ah… we made enough change."

Song objects to the transcript and says that is not what SB is saying on the tape. She does not tell what she thinks he is saying. Judge has prosecution play that part back twice. Sounds, to me, like the transcript is right. They move on.

10:40am - 15 minute break.

11am - Defense discussing dismissed juror with some media people.

11:04am - SB and AR brought in.

11:06am - Judge calls counsel to chambers.

11:12am - Counsel emerges. Judge, James, Roger and Song in huddle at front of courtroom going over transcripts. May 7th, 2:42am. Defense has asked the court to suppress some dialog. James is saying the transcript shows that SB, AR and JM talked just as offensively about women as the "mobsters" did. Saying on the tape they are talking about a club they went to, and rubbing on women and getting your dick hard and the chick with the "tit job," ect. Veronica objecting to the quality of the tapes, saying the transcripts have become the evidence and could be inaccurate. Jeff asking Judge to give jury an instruction that the transcript is only a guide, not evidence, and if you can't hear it said, then don't consider it as evidence.

11:30am - Judge denies motion to suppress. Except one line telling Atif to put hand on some girl. Prosecution arguing about it still. James says this transcript is a barometer of how SB acted after his meeting with the mobsters and shows he is not scared.

11:35am - Jury brought back in. I leave for the day.
